Clinic Updates

We would like to warmly welcome Anna, our new Medical Receptionist, who joined us on the 9th of June. We would also like to welcome back Gizelle, our Practice Nurse, as she returns to the team. We are delighted to have you both with us and look forward to working together. Welcome!

It has now been three weeks since we started using Indici, our new Practice Management System, and we have made great progress. Our staff are continuing to learn the many features and functions of the new system, and we appreciate everyone’s patience during this transition.

We encourage our patients to register for the patient portal so they can conveniently book appointments online, request repeat prescriptions, and view their test results. If you have not yet registered, please speak with one of our team members, who will be happy to assist you or click the link below:

Health topic of the month

As we are now in winter and the temperatures are getting cooler, we encourage everyone to keep warm and take care of their health. We still have flu vaccines available at the clinic, and we recommend booking in if you have not yet received your flu vaccine this season.

June is also Men’s Health Month, a great reminder for men to take charge of their health. Regular check-ups can help identify potential health concerns early and support overall wellbeing. If you are due for a health check, please contact the clinic to make an appointment.

  • Normal: <42 mmol/mol

  • Prediabetes: 42–47 mmol/mol (previously 41–49 mmol/mol)

  • Diabetes: ≥48 mmol/mol (lowered from ≥50 mmol/mol)

Pertussis (Whooping cough)

When to seek immediate care

Whooping cough is a medical emergency for infants and those with severe respiratory distress. Call 111 immediately or go to your nearest hospital Emergency Department if you or your child experience:

  • Difficulty breathing or pauses in breathing (apnea)

  • Turning blue or pale in the face or lips

  • Severe uncontrollable coughing fits

What to do if you were exposed

  1. Call your GP or Healthline: Contact your doctor or call the Healthline team (available 24/7) on 0800 611 116 for advice.

  2. Preventive Antibiotics: If you are a close contact, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics. This does not cure the infection if you've already caught it, but it can help prevent the bacteria from taking hold.

  3. Isolate: If you have been exposed and are awaiting test results or showing symptoms, isolate yourself from others—particularly babies and pregnant women—to stop the spread.
