Rukshi trained as a GP in the UK with a prior background in hospital medicine, in particular respiratory and rheumatology disorders. She moved to New Zealand last year and has been working here as a GP since mid October 2024.  Her interests are acute medicine and autoimmune disorders. She lives with her husband, two children and her puppy. Her hobbies include music and she plays regularly in her Church. She also loves animals, being outdoors and walking.

Meg trained as a GP in the UK and has been working on the North Shore since 2007. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice, from newborn babies to end of life care, with everything in between. She is particularly interested in Women’s Health and in diversity. She lives with her husband, teenage daughter and two cats.

The 2025 flu vaccine is free for some people

The flu vaccine is free for people at higher risk of getting very sick, including:

  • people aged 65 years and over

  • people aged 6 months and over who have a long term medical condition like diabetes, asthma, or a heart condition

  • pregnant people

  • tamariki (children) aged 4 years and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness, or have a history of significant respiratory illness

  • people with mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizoaffective disorder

  • people who are currently accessing secondary or tertiary mental health and addiction services.

The funded flu vaccine for tamariki and adults (6 months of age and over) available in Aotearoa New Zealand is called Influvac Tetra.
